Welcome aboard, Captains! If this is your first time setting sail on Groove Cruise, take a deep breath – you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. You’re about to step into the world’s premier and longest-standing floating music festival, where 96 hours of nonstop music, connection, and unforgettable moments unfold at sea. And while it might look overwhelming from the outside as a Groove Cruise Virgin, know this: you don’t have to have it all figured out to belong here.
PSA: Don’t know if you’re a Groove Cruise Virgin or not? If you’ve sailed with us before – you’re not! But if this is your first time – congratulations! You’re about to experience one of the most transformative experiences of your life.
Groove Cruise isn’t just a festival – it’s a living, breathing community. It’s a floating city fueled by music, creativity, radical self-expression, and a whole lot of heart. You’ll dance until sunrise, discover artists you didn’t know you loved, and form connections that feel like they’ve existed for years. It’s equal parts adventure, transformation, and beautifully organized chaos.
Groove Cruise can feel like a marathon (because it is), but that’s also what makes it so special. And if you’re going solo it might just turn into one of the most liberating experiences of your lives. There’s no pressure to see everything or do it all. The magic happens when you prepare just enough to stay grounded and then let the current carry you. The more comfortable and informed you feel, the more freedom you’ll have to fully surrender to the experience.
This guide is built specifically for GC Virgins to help you feel confident, prepared, and ready to step into the flow of life at sea. From navigating the check-in process, themes, to the unspoken rules, we’ve got you covered.
So unpack those nerves, pack your sense of adventure, and get ready to transform.
A little preparation goes a long way at sea. Groove Cruise is designed to feel effortless once you’re onboard but taking care of a few key things ahead of time will help you arrive calm, confident, and ready to fully step into the experience. From packing smart to setting expectations, this section will help you lay the groundwork for an unforgettable sailing.

Themes are a big part of the Groove Cruise experience, and many Captains plan outfits around each day and night. Be sure to check out the Themes section below for inspiration and costume ideas. That said, remember you’re limited to what you can comfortably bring onboard – one checked bag and one carry-on per person – so packing light is often the move. Storage space in staterooms is cozy, and you’ll be moving around the ship a lot. Comfortable shoes are essential as you’ll be walking a lot between stages, decks, stairs, and sunrise adventures. Believe us – your feet will thank you.
PRO TIP: To stay organized and save time getting dressed each day, pack themed outfits and accessories together in individual bags labeled with the day you’ll be wearing them.

Before your suitcase is zipped or your costume bin explodes across the living room, do yourself a favor and join the Groove Cruise Miami 2026 – Attendees Only Facebook Group and Groove Cruise Miami 2026 – Virgin Attendees Only Facebook Group.
This is where friendships begin before the ship even leaves the dock. You’ll find roommate tips, costume inspiration, meetups, ride shares, and answers to questions you didn’t know you had yet. Veterans share wisdom. First-timers ask questions. Memes flow freely. Welcome home.
The Groove Cruise App is essential. It works without Wi-Fi purchase, sends notifications for surprise pop-up sets, keeps schedules updated, and lets you bookmark your favorite artists. Turn notifications ON. If you aren’t purchasing a WiFi package, the app must be downloaded before sailing.
Download it for iOS here. Download it for Android here.
At some point before sailing, you will receive an email from Captain Support containing your Royal Caribbean booking number. This number is your golden ticket and it’s required to complete Royal Caribbean’s online check-in.
If that email hasn’t landed yet, don’t panic. Reach out to Whet Travel as soon as possible by calling 877-438-9438 (GET-WHET) or emailing captainsupport@whettravel.com.
Once you have your booking number, head to Royal Caribbean’s site, access your reservation, and complete online check-in. The lead guest can check in for everyone, or each guest can check in individually. Just remember: every Captain in your stateroom must be checked in before boarding passes can be printed.

Download the Royal Caribbean app ahead of time, it will make embarkation day significantly smoother.
Within the app, you can also add and pre-purchase Royal Caribbean add-ons to your reservation, such as drink packages, spa services, and make specialty dining restaurant reservations, and more.
PRO TIP: You can preorder water packages through your Royal Caribbean account and have them ready in your stateroom upon arrival to help you stay hydrated and healthy throughout the cruise.
Each guest must bring their eDocs, Set Sail Pass, and either a passport or a U.S. birth certificate paired with a government-issued photo ID. Names must match exactly. If you need to add, remove, or change a name, Captain Support is your go-to.
Due to government regulations, online check-in must be completed by 11:59 PM ET on January 20, 2026.

Smooth Sailing is an optional program designed to make your entire Groove Cruise experience easier from start to finish.
The Smooth Sailing Experience Package Includes:

Groove Cruise departs from and returns to Port Miami, Terminal A at 2000 N. Cruise Blvd, Miami, FL 33132.
Choosing to arrive in Miami the day before our departure date (or a few days prior) can help to avoid any potential flight delays, lost baggage or other problems that could occur. Need to arrive on the day of departure? We recommend that you schedule your flight arrival in Miami for no later than 12:00pm ET, or Fort Lauderdale for no later 11:00am ET.
Guests will be able to begin boarding around 12:00pm ET and must be on the ship no later than 2:30pm or you will not be permitted to sail.
Captains should arrive at the port no later than 1 p.m. ET on the day of sailing, as the check-in process may take longer than expected. If you do not complete Check-in by January 20th, you will be required to complete this at the port. This means you must arrive at the port by 11am ET on the day of sailing. All captains must be checked-in and onboard the ship no later than 2:30 PM ET or you wILL not be permitted to sail.
When you arrive, you can hand any luggage that you’d like to check to the porters outside the terminal. Make sure each bag has a luggage tag with the ship name, your name, and stateroom number. If you need extra tags, porters usually have them. A small tip (about $1–$2 per bag) is customary.
Your bags will magically appear in your stateroom later. Please do not keep your passport or information boarding documents in your checked bags. Keep anything else important that you might want for the next few hours in your carry-on such as important medications, valuables, and a portable charger, as luggage delivery can take some time.
Additional information can be found here.
PRO TIP: Once you’ve received all of your luggage, unpack your belongings into the closets, drawers, and cabinets in your stateroom, then store your suitcase under the bed to save space!
Just like land festivals in the U.S., illegal drugs are strictly prohibited. Part of the PLUR code is respecting your body. Drug use or possession will result in disembarkation. Port Miami is under federal jurisdiction, which means marijuana and its derivatives are illegal for Groove Cruise, regardless of state laws.
At the port, you will be subject to airport-style screening, including drug-sniffing dogs and random bag searches. Don’t risk it! Any person found in possession of illegal substances is subject to criminal fines, arrest, and prosecution by port officials. Please be mindful of what you pack and ensure you know exactly what is in your bags, including any vitamins or supplements you plan to bring to get you through this 96-hour experience.
Prescription medications are permitted if they are prescribed in your name, in reasonable quantities, and kept in their original bottles with labels intact.
The following official Groove Cruise meetups will take place on Day One. The location and time of each meetup will be included in the daily schedule released closer to sailing.

Once you step onto the ship, it’s game on! Life onboard moves fast, and the magic happens when you allow yourself to explore, connect, and stay present. These tips will help you navigate the ship, the schedule, and the energy so you can make the most of every moment at sea.

Themes are a beloved Groove Cruise tradition and a huge part of the vibe. Each day and night has a theme, giving everyone the chance to express, transform, and play.
Whether you go cozy, couture, silly, sexy, or spectacular, participation is encouraged and wildly celebrated. Check out 2026 theme costume ideas on Pinterest.
DAY 1 – REPRESENT
Flags, jerseys, cultural prints, city pride. Before the ocean even sees you, show where you come from. Virgins wear white!
NIGHT 1 – CROWNS & CORSETS
Strap on steel-boned lace, velvet trains, golden headpieces, and crystal tiaras. You’re self-made royalty on a treasure hunt for the unknown.
DAY 2 – FOOD FETISH
Whether you waddle up in a hot-sauce cape or strut in a donut tutu, nothing is too deliciously deranged.
NIGHT 2 – DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE
Logic bends; wonder reigns. Neon mushrooms, pocket-watch vests, Cheshire grins. It is your time to own every bizarre inch.
DAY 3 – TURQUOISE TEMPTATION
Aqua sarongs, teal swim shorts, turquoise body glitter, you will become one with the ocean until you can’t tell skin from sea.
NIGHT 3 – MIDNIGHT SEDUCTION
Silk masks, midnight latex, raven feathers. Shadows merge, boundaries blur, and the tribe becomes one dark, thumping heartbeat.
DAY 4 – ANIMAL INSTINCTS
Leopard suits, feathered wings, luminescent scales. Welcome to the wild side where you can channel your spirit creature and stalk the decks in playful packs.
NIGHT 4 – SHIMMERVERSE
Glitter rains, lights gleam, and waves shimmer—enter a world of sparkle and shine.
Yes, the music is unreal. But one of Groove Cruise’s most special secrets is the Artist-Hosted Activities.
These experiences let you connect with fellow Captains and your favorite artists in playful, unexpected ways. Think games, adventures, laughs, shared moments, and stories that don’t stay on Instagram.
Even better? Participating supports Whet Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Some activities may have a small charge to participate, but all proceeds fund the Destination Donation Initiative, supporting Ranfurly Homes for Children and the Boys & Girls Club of The Bahamas.
Your fun fuels real-world impact. That’s Groove Cruise.

Our Captain Connections experiences are all about bringing the community together. From dance classes to drag shows, wellness sessions, and creative workshops hosted by our Experience Navigators, there’s something for everyone. You’ll also find plenty of chances to meet your fellow captains through our signature meetups and our playful Groove Games! Whether you’re here to learn, laugh, compete, or celebrate, Captain Connections are where new friendships are made, and existing ones flourish.
The date, time, and location of each experience will be included in the daily schedule, which will be posted closer to sailing.

Groove Games is your ultimate shipwide showdown, where decks transform into teams and friendly competition rules the waves all weekend long! Every captain is automatically placed on a team based on their deck, and each team has a unique mascot to rally behind:
Earn points for your team by diving into silly challenges, playful competitions, and outrageous antics throughout the sailing. Groove Games events will appear on the daily schedule alongside the rest of the onboard activities, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to join. Some events will be open for all captains to participate, while others will randomly select participants, with teammates cheering them on and bringing the energy.
The fun goes beyond scheduled events! Teams can also earn points through a shipwide scavenger hunt running all weekend, pop-up on-the-spot challenges, Sea Snaps on Instagram, and special superlatives awarded to standout captains.
There is truly a role for everyone, whether you are competing, hyping up your squad, dressing the part, or repping your mascot! You might even spot your favorite artists jumping in and playing along. No gear or costume is required, but feel free to let your team inspire your door décor, Animal Instincts ‘fit, or Represent Day look.
All points earned throughout the weekend will be tracked, and at the end of the sailing, one team will be crowned the Groove Games champion and presented with the Captain’s Cup. Full game details will be shared at the first Groove Games event onboard, so get ready to show off your team spirit on the high seas!
The Captain Support Team is onboard to help make your Groove Cruise experience as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether you have a question about your reservation, onboard logistics, or need assistance with anything during the sailing, our team is happy to help. If you come across ANY issues, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us or see us in person.

Groove Cruise is a full-body, full-heart experience and taking care of yourself is what allows the magic to last from the first beat to the final sunrise. With nonstop music, late nights, and constant movement, fueling your body, getting rest, and knowing when to reset are just as important as catching your favorite sets. This section is here to help you stay energized, balanced, and present, so you can fully enjoy every moment without burning out.
Wonder of the Seas is home to over 40 bar & dining experiences and many of these are complimentary to your reservation on Groove Cruise 2026.

8:00 pm – 12:00 am
PRO TIP: Room service is complimentary for most items (besides a small flat delivery fee) and available 24/7, so you can fuel up in the comfort of your stateroom!
Groove Cruise’s specialty dining options offer a delicious way to level up your onboard experience when you want something a little extra.
These venues typically require a reservation and have additional menu costs. We recommend using a credit card rather than a debit card to avoid potential holds on your bank account as credit cards handle onboard holds more smoothly and help protect your cash flow.
Groove Cruise runs 24 hours a day and while it’s tempting to dance for every sunrise set, rest is what keeps the experience magical instead of exhausting. Learning when to sleep (and how to sleep well) is one of the biggest game-changers for first-time Captains.
Be like LP Giobbi and master “disco naps.” Don’t wait until you’re exhausted. Short naps between sets can be just as powerful as a full night’s sleep.
Use earplugs or noise-canceling headphones. The ship never truly sleeps, and a little sound protection goes a long way.
Blackout curtains are your best friend. Most staterooms have them and you can use them to trick your body into rest, even during the day.
Hydrate before bed. Dancing + sun + salt air = dehydration, which can seriously affect your sleep quality.
Set a loose “anchor time.” Even 3–4 hours of intentional rest per day will help you stay energized throughout the sailing.

Groove Cruise is a marathon, not a sprint and the most memorable moments often happen when you slow down just enough to feel them. Taking breaks doesn’t mean stepping away from the experience; it means staying present for it. When you rest with intention, you’ll dance longer, connect deeper, and leave the ship feeling transformed instead of depleted.
Explore daytime chill zones. Pools, shaded decks, and quieter lounges like the Whet Oasis offer a perfect reset between high-energy moments.
Balance high-energy nights with slower mornings. Not every moment needs to be full throttle.
Eat real meals. Fueling your body is just as important as fueling the dance floor.
Listen to your body. If you need to sit, stretch, or step away, please do it. Your stateroom is just steps away and the music will still be there when you return.
Remember: there’s no “right” schedule. Your Groove Cruise flow is yours alone.
Step into a sanctuary of movement in Whet Oasis, hosted by Drishti Beats, where music and mindfulness unite. Flow through yoga, dive into meditation, stretch and recover, explore breath work, and experience blindfolded yoga—all to the soulful rhythms of live downtempo and spiritual house music. You’ll also experience a transformative sound healing journey with Erika Tsimbalov. Recharge, connect, and let your weekend soar to new heights.
When it’s time to reset, the Vitality Spa & Fitness center offers the perfect escape between adventures. From restorative massages and rejuvenating facials to world-class fitness classes and Technogym-powered workout facilities, it’s designed to help you recharge your body and mind. With a full-service beauty salon and access to exclusive spa amenities, finding balance at sea has never been easier.
There will also be a special menu of hydrating IV services for Groove Cruise Captains this year.
Find more information on the spa here and pre-book your services through the Royal Caribbean app!
If you plan to purchase a beverage package, the deadline is January 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. After that, drink packages can only be purchased onboard on Day One at any bar onboard. You can bring drinks back to your stateroom and rooms do have a mini fridge which is usually empty so you can store water or soda purchased pre-sail.
The Deluxe Beverage Package is the all-in, top shelf drink package. Enjoy bottomless beverages onboard such as liquor, beer, wine, cocktails, frozen drinks, specialty coffees, soda, smoothies, bottled water, sparkling water, and more.
The Refreshment Beverage Package includes unlimited, non-alcoholic refreshment options such as sodas, smoothies, fresh juice, specialty coffee, bottled water and more.
The Classic Soda Beverage Package includes unlimited cans of soda and fountain soft drinks.
Tip: Gratuity is already included with all beverage packages!
Already bought the regular beverage package and want to upgrade? You can upgrade to Premium Plus onboard for an additional $29 per day.
On embarkation day, each guest of drinking age may bring one sealed 750 ml bottle of wine or champagne. No boxed wine or alternate containers. Any alcohol purchased on board or in ports will be held and returned on the last day.

Admirals Club is Groove Cruise’s premium VIP hosting experience, designed for Captains who want next-level comfort, service, and privacy. These exclusive areas throughout the ship give you a luxurious escape from the crowds while keeping you fully immersed in the music, energy, and nonstop celebration.
Whether you’re celebrating something big, cruising with your closest #GCFAM, or simply want a more spacious and seamless onboard experience, the Admirals Club is the best way to elevate your journey.
The Admirals Club offers premium perks throughout the sailing, including:
1) Log in to your Whet Travel account.
2) Click “View/Modify” on your 2026 reservation.
3) Open the dropdown “Add More Options,” then select the category you wish to add.
4) Select the guest name, then “Continue.”
5) Select Admirals Club, then select Admirals Club Pre Sale Deposit.
6) Click “Add to Reservation,” then “Check Out.”

Groove Cruise is curated across multiple genre brands, each with its own sound and energy:
Additionally, be prepared to be surprised as you wander around the ship. Groove Cruise is a floating magical music festival full of other genres around every corner and in secret rooms. You may just stumble upon select hip-hop sets, Taylor Swift parties, country EDM throwdowns, and more.
Like any experience, there are some unspoken do’s and don’ts of Groove Cruise.
Groove Cruise is a marathon party, but rest is sacred. Be mindful of your neighbors. Hallway yelling, blasting music in staterooms or balconies can wreck someone’s recharge moment.
We take care of each other. If someone looks lost or out of it, check in. We’re family.
Fans are for cooling off, not clacking or whistling. Artists curate these sets with intention, and Captains want to hear them. Respect the music and the moment.
Make your stateroom door your own! Decorating your door is a fun way to express your creativity and help your fellow Captains find you in the halls. Just be sure decorations don’t leave marks, block walkways, include offensive imagery, or interfere with fire safety guidelines. Pro tip: magnets and command strips are your best friends for easy setup and clean removal.

Groove Cruise Miami 2026 docks in Nassau, Bahamas – a vibrant capital with a newly upgraded cruise port, waterfront amphitheater, shopping, dining, and nonstop island energy.
Nassau recently unveiled a state-of-the-art cruise port, featuring a waterfront amphitheater, upgraded shopping, dining, and entertainment. While the full details are coming for our Destination Party, you can count on this to be one of the biggest highlights of the trip. Picture this: stunning island backdrops, world-class DJs, and thousands of Captains dancing together under the Caribbean sun.
New this year: you can walk right off the ship onto the island, making this year’s destination day the easiest it’s been in years past.
Dance, explore, shop, sip, snorkel, or join artist-hosted excursions. Be back onboard by 11PM sharp.
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, towels, your room key, credit cards and/or cash, and government-issued ID. Towels must be brought back to the ship or you’ll be charged. However, if you forget something, you are free to return to the ship and then go back out to port as needed.
To reserve cabanas, tables, or bottles at the Destination Party, email admiralsclub@whettravel.com.

Whet Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to excite the lives of those less fortunate, and positively affect an entire generation in a brand new way. Whet Foundation offers exciting experiences to deserving children in South Florida, the Caribbean and Mexico.
Whet Foundation believes in making a positive impact through various initiatives including, Destination Donation, Mental Health Awareness, Celebration of Life, Community Captains, and Ocean Conservation. Through Destination Donation, Whet Foundation gives back to the destinations visited by Whet Travel clients, providing essential items to underprivileged children.
This year’s Destination Donation supports Ranfurly Homes for Children and the Boys & Girls Club of The Bahamas, providing essentials, education, and safe spaces for children in need.
Donations can be dropped at the Captain Support Desk on day one, or made online here. Captains can also volunteer to deliver donations and engage with the kids – many say it’s the most meaningful moment of Groove Cruise.
Sign up to volunteer for Destination Donation through your Whet Travel through December 22nd, 2025.
Once logged into your account, follow these steps:
1. View/Modify your reservation.
2. Click the dropdown “Add More Options" to select “Add Whet Foundation Destination Donation”
3. Select “Guest.”
4. Click “Destination Donation Volunteer” If you would like to donate to the Whet Foundation, enter the amount in the white text box under “Donate to Destination Donation.”
5. Click “Add to Reservation.”

No one wants the magic of Groove Cruise to end, but unfortunately all good things come to an end. Disembarkation comes fast and early so be prepared!
Make your morning disembarkation easier and check your luggage the night before. You’ll receive an option the evening before disembarkation to have your luggage ready to be taken and checked. This can save you the time and hassle when that early morning comes of not having to carry it off. You’ll then go to the checked baggage claim to retrieve your luggage in the morning.
The ship begins clearing early in the morning (around 7 AM!), and all Captains must pass through security screening before exiting, so patience and planning are key. Have your travel documents ready. Keep your ID and required paperwork easily accessible.
We also recommend that you arrange your return flight to leave Miami no earlier than 12:00pm ET or if you are flying out of Fort Lauderdale, no earlier than 1:00pm ET.
PRO TIP: To keep your final hours smooth and stress-free, we strongly recommend packing most of your belongings the night before. That way, your morning can be calm, organized, and unrushed with no frantic searches for missing items or last-minute bag stuffing.

Coming home from Groove Cruise can feel like stepping back into gravity after four days of floating in pure magic. Give yourself permission to recover — physically, emotionally, and mentally. You just experienced something intense, beautiful, and deeply connective, and it’s okay to take time to recalibrate.
