Whet Foundation believes in making a positive impact through various initiatives including, Destination Donation, Mental Health Awareness, Celebration of Life, Community Captains, and Ocean Conservation. Through Destination Donation, Whet Foundation gives back to the destinations visited by Whet Travel attendees, providing essential items to underprivileged children. Whet Foundation prioritizes Mental health awareness, offering uplifting sessions for those in the music industry. Celebration of Life is where loved ones no longer with us are celebrated and participants have the opportunity to share their story. Lastly, Whet Foundation is dedicated to ocean conservation, organizing immersive events to raise awareness and support research efforts.

The Whet Foundation partners with Whet Travel to give back to the destinations visited during Whet Travel events through the Destination Donation initiative. Attendees are invited to donate essential items such as school supplies, clothing, to an orphanage or local charity serving underprivileged children. Attendees also have the opportunity to volunteer for the Destination Donation trip, where they personally deliver the donations and spend time hosting fun activities that create lasting memories for the kids. Many volunteers share that the Destination Donation volunteer experience is a highlight of their trip.
The Whet Foundation’s Destination Donation initiative for Groove Cruise Miami 2027 will directly support Ranfurly Homes for Children in The Bahamas.
Ranfurly Homes for Children is dedicated to offering comprehensive care for displaced children facing challenges such as loss of parents, separation, abuse, abandonment, illness, or other difficult circumstances. Their mission is to protect children’s rights while providing a stable, loving environment. Through education, counseling, and mentoring, Ranfurly Homes helps guide these children through adolescence and prepare them for adulthood and independence.
By supporting the Whet Foundation Destination Donation initiative, you’lll help support essential needs requested by Ranfurly Homes for Children, as well as their Agricultural Sustainability Project, an initiative designed to create a more sustainable future for the Home.
As part of the Agricultural Sustainability Project, Ranfurly is working to renovate and expand its existing poultry facilities to improve long-term food security and establish a sustainable resource that supports the nutritional needs of the children.
We are asking the #GCFAM to help support Ranfurly Homes for Children in any of the following ways:
· SHOP: Purchase requested essential items through the Donation Wish List, with items shipped directly to Ranfurly Homes for Children. Click HERE to shop the Donation Wish List.
· BRING: Bring requested donation items onboard and drop them off at the Captain Support Desk on Day 1 of Groove Cruise Miami 2027.
· GIVE: Make a monetary donation to the Whet Foundation to support Ranfurly’s requested needs and Agricultural Sustainability Project. To donate, log in to your Whet Travel account and select the Whet Foundation: Donate to Destination Donation add-on.
Captains attending Groove Cruise Miami 2027 can also volunteer for the Destination Donation trip to visit Ranfurly Homes for Children, see firsthand how the GCFAM’s contributions are making an impact, and spend time connecting with the children. Many volunteers share that the Destination Donation experience is a highlight of their Groove Cruise.

Celebration of Life will be hosted to celebrate our loved ones no longer with us. The celebration consists of a biodegradable wreath and biodegradable note cards, where participants have the opportunity to share their story, write a message to their loved ones and put their message in the wreath to be thrown overboard. In many cultures the ocean is one of the primary factors that made life possible on earth. Sending off the departed into the ocean symbolizes the end of physical life and the beginning of spiritual rebirth.
With the written notes to loved ones, this allows all present to participate and share in this moving experience. It symbolizes a farewell and an opportunity for closure and healing.
We will provide further information regarding the timing of the Celebration of Life event as we approach the sailing date.
When The Music Stops is a nonprofit and community that supports emotional and mental health through music, connection, and love. We have partnered with When The Music Stops to facilitate mental health talks covering topics like meditation, maintaining balance, recognizing symptoms, and the power of journaling.
